Hair Color Trends in Denver for 2026: What's In, What's Out, and What Tim Is Seeing in the Salon

Every year, the trends shift — and 2026 is no exception. After 35 years behind the chair at Tim's Teazz in Englewood, CO, I've watched color trends come and go, and I've learned to tell the difference between a flash-in-the-pan moment and a look that's going to be everywhere for the next two years. Here's what I'm seeing in the salon right now.

Lived-in blonde is still the dominant request. The era of high-maintenance, perfectly uniform blonde is over — clients want color that looks like it grew that way. Soft balayage, shadow roots, and dimensional highlights that blend seamlessly into the natural base are what I'm doing most. The goal is always the same: beautiful color that looks effortless and grows out gracefully. This is what I've been specializing in for decades, and it's never been more in demand.

Warm brunettes are having a major moment. Rich chocolate browns with subtle copper or auburn undertones, deep caramel brunettes, and warm chestnut tones are everywhere right now. These colors photograph beautifully, work on virtually every skin tone, and have a richness that cooler brunettes just can't match. I've been using Framesi's warm brunette range to create these looks, and the results are stunning.

Copper and red are back — and they're bolder than ever. After years of muted, dusty rose tones dominating the fashion color space, I'm seeing a real return to vibrant, saturated reds and coppers. These are high-maintenance colors that require commitment to upkeep, but the impact is undeniable. If you've been thinking about going red, 2026 is the year.

What's fading out: the ultra-icy, almost-white platinum blonde that dominated a few years ago. It's still beautiful, but the maintenance demands are intense and the look has peaked. Clients who had it are softening it into a warmer, more dimensional blonde. The 'money piece' trend — heavy face-framing highlights — is also cooling off in favor of more blended, all-over dimension.
